He has developed a practiced ability to assess, evaluate, and restore chess sets, lending expertise that spans appraisal, consultation, and hands-on restoration work. Whether sourcing pieces for his personal collection or advising others on the value and provenance of a set, Mallavarapu approaches chess collecting with the same precision and attention to detail that defines his medical career.

Dr. Christopher Mallavarapu holds fellowship status with both the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI). He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology, with additional certification from the Council of Nuclear Cardiology. Over the course of his career, Dr. Mallavarapu has performed more than 12,000 cardiac catheterizations, serving patients at Olean General Hospital and Northern Maine Medical Center.
