Erik Stancofski has built a career as a Board-Certified General Surgeon known for his work in hernia repair, gallbladder treatment, and colorectal surgery. 
His clinical focus includes hernia repairs (umbilical, ventral, inguinal, incisional, and hiatal), gallbladder conditions, and colorectal operations such as colon resection for cancer, polyps, and inflammatory conditions like diverticulitis and Crohn’s disease. He also treats skin cancers, cysts, and tumors. Throughout his career, Stancofski has stayed at the leading edge of his field, adopting minimally invasive techniques that help patients recover faster and with less discomfort.
Education & Experience
Stancofski earned both his medical degree and undergraduate degree in Biology from the American University of Beirut, then completed a six-year general surgery residency at St. Agnes Hospital, where he built a strong technical foundation across a wide range of procedures. He later added an MBA with a healthcare emphasis from George Washington University in 2008, broadening his perspective on practice management and long-term planning in clinical settings.
Over the course of his career, Erik Stancofski has served as General Surgery Attending and Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery, and spent nearly two decades as Co-Founder, Co-Owner, and Manager of Cape Surgical Associates. He holds Fellow status with the American College of Surgeons and maintains affiliations with the American Board of Surgery and the American Medical Association.
Professional Presenter & Speaker
In addition to his surgical practice, Stancofski has experience as a presenter and speaker, having appeared on behalf of the Southeastern Surgical Congress and the Middle East Medical Assembly. He remains engaged in sharing insights on surgical advancement, patient care, and minimally invasive approaches with both medical professionals and general audiences.
