Dr. Vince Bantu is a religious leader, author, and lecturer whose work centers on recovering and sharing the deep roots of the Christian faith across Africa and Asia. Through published books, peer-reviewed articles, podcast appearances, and talks and lectures delivered at institutions around the world, Vince has built a body of work that challenges the notion that the faith traveled only from West to East — and brings that history to the communities it belongs to.
Religious Leader
At the heart of Vince’s work is a pastoral conviction: the gospel of Jesus is for all nations, tribes, and tongues. As a religious leader and public speaker, he has preached and lectured across the United States and internationally, bringing the message of a globally rooted Christian faith to diverse audiences — from historic Black churches to university campuses to international academic conferences. He is affiliated with Wheaton College’s Global Urban Perspectives program and founded the Society of Gospel Haymanot, an organization dedicated to Afro-rooted theology and the universal Lordship of Jesus.

Dr. Bantu has delivered talks and lectures at Oxford University, Princeton, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Dumbarton Oaks, and a wide range of HBCUs and state universities across the United States and beyond. His lectures draw on his expertise in African Church History and global Christian identity, making complex historical material accessible and meaningful to academic and community audiences alike. He has also appeared on the Jude 3 Project podcast, Theology in the Raw, The Biblical Mind, and the History Channel documentary series Holy Marvels.
